INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

Norms for publication

1. The Journal Human Nature publishes unpublished texts, as well as clinical case studies, documents, accompanied or not by presentations and commentaries, translations of classic texts, accompanied or not by presentations and commentaries, and reviews that have a direct bearing on our theme.

2. The originals may be sent in four languages: Portuguese, Spanish, English and French.

3. The texts must be sent in a 3 ½" diskette and be compatible with WORD FOR WINDOWS, in a continuous text format, pressing “enter” only once in order to change paragraphs, and without the use of tabs or hyphens.

4. 2 copies printed with double spacing must also be sent (containing, as well, the notes and bibliographical reference). The authors may choose to send their texts by Internet (natureza@that.com.br), by attachment, which dismisses the need for a printed copy.

5. Each paper sent must contain:

a) the title of the paper;
b) the author’s name;
c) the author’s identification (which may be used for publication);
d) the author’s address;
e) a 10 line (approximately) summary of the paper followed by at least five key words, both specifications should be done in the text’s original language and in English.

6. The collaborators must follow, in the presentation of their works, the magazine’s editorial practices, regarding the standards for quotes, footnotes and bibliographical references, references to articles, books, magazines etc.

7. The papers must be sent to the Editorial Committee at the review’s address.

8. The Editorial Committee does not promise to return the original papers sent.

9. All papers will be submitted to arbitrage by two anonymous “referees”. The articles that are not accepted will receive a scientific report containing the reason for the refusal. The Editorial Committee reserves the right of sending a report requesting the author to change or redo his/her paper, totally or partially, without implying in a commitment regarding the final acceptance of the paper for publication.

10. The authors whose papers are accepted will receive, free of charge, 10 offprints and two issues of the Review in which his/her paper was published.

11. With the publication of the originals, the author automatically hands over, to theReview, the copyrights over their texts.

12. We request that our collaborators, in the quotes referent to the texts by D. W. Winnicott, use the reference standard established by Knud Hjulmand (published in Natureza Humana, v. 1, n. 2, 1999)
