Unconscious and contemporary psychoanalytic clinic

Este artigo busca responder, através de vinhetas clínicas, a estas três questões: 1. A inserção da Psicanálise na sociedade e na cultura pode constituir um obstáculo ao progresso de uma análise? 2. Esta mesma inserção pode produzir efeitos na sociedade independentes da análise pessoal? 3. O sujeito contemporâneo pode vir a tornar-se refratário à instauração inconsciente do conceito psicanalítico fundamental, o complexo de Édipo?

This paper tries to answer, through clinical vignettes, to the following three questions: 1. Can insertion of the Psychoanalysis in society and culture may be an obstacle to the progress of an analysis? 2. Can this same insertion may cause effects in society regardless a personal analysis? 3. Could the contemporary subject be insensitive to unconscious installation of the fundamental psychoanalytic concept, the Oedipus complex?

Delicacies of the I.: fundaments of vulnerability

Neste trabalho analisa-se a hipótese metapsicológica segundo a qual o impacto subjetivo de um diagnóstico de HIV Aids é traumático, no sentido psicanalítico do termo, o que significa que é preciso construir um dispositivo clínico que permita deslindar, na dinâmica psíquica desses pacientes, os conflitos desencadeados pela certeza científica da Aids como diagnóstico. Analisa-se em um caso clínico a economia psíquica resultante, no sentido do circuito pulsional que gira em torno do eu vulnerável, atingido em cheio em sua crença na imortalidade. Analisam-se seus efeitos na tópica psíquica, ou seja, o impacto produzido nas instâncias id, eu e superego. Entre elas deixa-se indicada a mais significativa evidência clínica nos casos de Aids: o ataque do superego ao eu, conhecida por todos que exercem a clínica da Aids, a presença da melancolia, que resta como problema de pesquisa.

This paper analyzes the metapsychological hypothesis according to which the subjective impact of a diagnosis of HIV AIDS is traumatic, in the psychoanalytic sense of the term, which means that a clinical setting, which allows clinical unravel the psychodynamics of these patients, conflicts triggered by scientific certainty such as a diagnosis of AIDS, needs to be built. From a clinical vignette the author analyzes the psychological economy resulting - the drive dynamics - that makes the self vulnerable, targeting his, or her, belief of immortality. The author also analyzes its effects on topical mental, ie, the impact for a id, superego, and I. Such a fact brings about the most significant clinical evidence about AIDS: the attack of the superego onto the self, known for all those who engaged in the AIDS clinic, the presence of melancholia, which remains as a research problem.

Would the unconscious be politically incorrect?

O artigo traz uma longa e cuidadosa reflexão, a partir de experiência teórico-clínica da autora, sobre a inserção da psicanálise na atualidade. Partindo de Freud, e retomando o "retorno a Freud" operado por Lacan, a autora propõe uma leitura do mal-estar na contemporaneidade e das tentativas - médicas, psicofarmacológicas, genéticas, neurociências... - sempre frustradas para alcançar a "felicidade": há um mal-estar estrutural, e não conjuntural, na civilização que diz respeito àquilo que o sujeito vive como sofrimento ou impossibilidade de relacionamento com o outro e com o mundo, vivido como uma dificuldade de ser. A autora mostra, também, como o discurso da ciência, entendido como laço social que pretende que todos sejam iguais a qualquer custo, reforça os processos de segregação, pois quanto mais se exige a igualdade do outro, mais ele insiste em se manifestar como totalmente diferente do que se esperava.

The text provides a long and careful reflexion, based upon the theoretical and clinical experience of the author, on the insertion of psychoanalysis nowadays. Starting with Freud, and with the "return to Freud" operated by Lacan, the author proposes a understanding of the malaise in contemporary and the attempts - medical, psychopharmacology, genetics, neuroscience ... - always failed to achieve "happiness": the discontentment in culture is structural and not circumstantial, in civilization, which concerns not only the way the subject experiences as suffering but also the impossibility of social bounds with others and the world. The author also shows how the discourse of science, understood as a social bond that pretends everyone to be equal at any cost, reinforces the segregation processes: the more equality to the other is required, the more the subject insists on his, or her, difference.

Magical thinking and psyche constitution

Os autores desenvolvem a ideia segundo a qual o pensamento mágico encontra sua expressão em outras culturas. A partir dos exemplos citados por antropólogos, os autores discutem o resíduo “da mentalidade primitiva”, que ainda existe em forma latente na psique de todo ser humano. Os autores sustentam suas hipóteses a partir da ideia de que o pensamento mágico é uma tentativa de escapar das ansiedades e dos conflitos tanto do mundo externo quanto do interno; como se o ato de pensar pudesse controlar, explicar e até mesmo mudar a realidade.

The authors develop the idea according to which expressions of magical thinking can also be found in other cultures. From examples described by anthropologists the authors try to identify this “primitive residual mentality” that still exists in latent form in the psyche of each human being. Magical thinking is an attempt to escape anxiety and conflict from both external and internal world, as if the act of thinking could control, explain, and even change reality.

Freud, Lacan and the therapeutic: preliminary considerations

O artigo a seguir pretende produzir um exame sobre as relações entre terapêutica e psicanálise. Aborda-se o modo como a psicanálise se constituiu em diálogo com as práticas terapêuticas em Freud e como Lacan se posiciona frente à terapêutica e seus efeitos no tratamento analítico. Enquanto consideração preliminar sobre a questão, faz-se uma localização da terapêutica como um conjunto de técnicas e verifica-se sobre a estratégia de Lacan via noção de desejo do analista como um dos modos de lidar com os impasses freudianos frente à expectativa terapêutica.

The following article aims to produce an examination on the relationship between the therapeutical element and psychoanalysis. It deals with the way psychoanalysis dialogues with the therapeutic practice in Freud´s work and how Lacan is positioned on the therapeutical issue and its effects on the analytic treatment. As a preliminary consideration on the subject the article locates therapy as a set of techniques and also approaches the notion of analyst´s desire as one of Lacan's strategies to deal with Freudian dilemmas facing the therapeutical expectations.

Percorrendo parte importante da obra freudiana, o autor escolhe fazer uma arqueologia do conceito de sublimação com o objetivo de relacionar a Música, uma obra de arte, à Psicanálise, utilizando para isso a abrangência do circuito pulsional de que nos fala Freud.

Using an important part of Freud's work and exploring the 'drive circuit' idea, the author makes an archeology of the sublimation concept in order to relate Music, a work of art, and Psychoanalysis.

Addicted love’s bond: the drinker’s happy marriage with his glass

No presente trabalho partimos das contribuições de Freud, acerca do tema toxicomania, até as formulações lacanianas para analisarmos uma das funções que a droga tem para o sujeito que se intoxica: a busca de um gozo que prescinde do Outro, uma satisfação fora do gozo fálico. Assim ele busca um objeto que o satisfaça e que não entre em contradição com seu desejo. Este é o modelo de um casamento feliz em que a harmonia da relação está no fato de que a droga nunca dirá um não ou sim e está sempre ao alcance das mãos.

This paper is a study on the Freud’s and Lacan’s contributions on drug addiction, in which is analyzed one of the functions that the drug has for its user: the search for joy that dispenses the Other, a satisfaction outside the phallic enjoyment. He/she seeks an object that satisfies him/her and does not oppose to his/her desire. This is the model of a happy marriage in which the harmony of the relationship lies on the fact that the drug will never oppose his desire and will always be reachable.

Psychoanalytical listening of company’s employees: utopia or reality?

Este artigo relata um trabalho, desenvolvido em empresas de Belo Horizonte, que visava à abertura de um espaço para os funcionários falarem e repensarem dificuldades e problemas pontuais. Com o reconhecimento das questões e assunção das responsabilidades por essas empresas, pretendíamos que uma maior quota de energia criadora pudesse ser liberada, gerando bem-estar e resultados positivos, em casa e no trabalho. O objetivo era a escuta focal destes sujeitos visando a alguma subjetivação dos ‘males’ em causa. Em caso de necessidade, encaminhamentos eram feitos a profissionais, fora da empresa.

These paper reports a study in two companies in the city of Belo Horizonte, both of which aimed at giving an opportunity for the employees to talk and rethink their difficulties and punctual problems. We intend, through acknowledgement of their issues and accepting the responsibilities signed them, that a greater quota of creative power could be released, generating well-being and positive results, both at home and at work. It was a time for reflection, providing for some subjectification of these individuals for the “illness” in cause. When necessary, the employees were then referred to a professional psychoanalyst outside the company.

Is the musician already born as such?: In the littoral of music and psychoanalysis: questions

O autor propõe, no presente artigo, discutir questões relativas à música e ao desenvolvimento da aptidão musical, a partir da teoria psicanalítica, buscando responder a algumas perguntas, tais como: o músico já nasce músico? Qual a relação do sujeito do inconsciente e de seu desejo com a criação musical? Qual a relação da fantasia do sujeito (amor - desejo - gozo) com o ato criativo musical do sujeito?

The author proposes in the present article, to discuss questions relating to music and to the development of musical aptitude, from the psychoanalytical view point, trying to answer some questions, such as: is the musician born as musician? What is the relation between the unconscious subject and his/her desire in musical creation? What is the relation between the subject fantasy (love-desire-enjoyment) and the subject´s creative musical act?

A note on freud’s structural differentiation between neurosis and perversion

A autora apresenta uma visão geral da elaboração de Freud a respeito da diferenciação entre neurose e perversão. Enfatiza o modo pelo qual o sujeito se relaciona com a configuração edípica - o modo que decide a sua relação com a castração, com a realidade, com o desejo e com seus objetos. Estruturas diferentes estão relacionadas a mecanismos psíquicos específicos, que manifestam diferentes soluções para a interdição edípica (recalque na neurose e denegação na perversão), o que também é importante na condução da transferência e do próprio tratamento psicanalítico.

The author presents an overview of Freud’s elaboration of disawoal, considering the question of the differentiation between neurosis and perversion. She emphasizes the way in which the subject relates to the oedipal configuration - the way that decides his relation to castration, to reality, to desire and to his objects. Different structures are related to specific psychic mechanisms, that manifest different solutions to the oedipal interdiction (repression in neurosis and disawoal in perversion), what is also important in dealing with the transference and the psychoanalytic treatment itself.
