Some thoughts on psychological assessment in infancy and youth justice

Este artigo apresenta um estudo sobre o parecer psicológico na Justiça da Infância e da Juventude a partir dos conceitos de poder disciplinar, norma e exame tais como elaborados por Michel Foucault. A pesquisa constitui-se, também, de uma série de entrevistas com operadores do Direito e psicólogos que atuam nessa área, realizando-se uma análise dos pareceres produzidos. Elabora-se, assim, um painel onde aqueles conceitos propiciariam não apenas uma análise crítica do instrumento parecer psicológico, mas também das linhas de força para sua redefinição.

This article is a study about the psychological written report in the Juvenile Court, based on the concepts of discipline, norm and exam as they were worked out by Michel Foucault. This research is also based on interviews with judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys and psychologists who work in this area. An analysis about some psychological written reports is also made. In the end, we cannot only criticize such reports, but work out the concepts of their (re)definition as well.

The construction of the teachers professional identity

O artigo apresenta síntese da monografia do Curso de Bacharelado em Psicologia da UFPE. Consta de discussão teórica sobre o conceito de identidade e propõe elementos para a pesquisa sobre identidade profissional, que é considerada como inserida no jogo do reconhecimento constituído por dois pólos, o do auto-reconhecimento e o do alter-reconhecimento. Participaram do estudo, docentes do ensino fundamental de Recife. Os dados constam de entrevistas individuais com os docentes e material jornalístico. Sugere-se que os docentes vivenciam momento de conflito na identidade profissional, não comprometendo suas relações pessoais com o trabalho, mas dificultando uma vivência da identidade coletiva.

The article presents a summary of a monografy presented in the undergraduation program in Psychology at the UFPE (Federal University of Pernambuco). It contains a theoretical discussion on the concept of identity and proposes elements for a survey on professional identity, considered as inserted in the recognition game, constituted of two poles, that of self-knowlegde and that of alter-recognition. Teachers of elementary schools in Recife participated in the study. The data are gathered based on interviews carried out individually among the teachers and on journalistic material. It is suggested that the teachers experience moments of professional identity conflict that do not compromise their personal relations with work, but make it difficult to establish collective identities.

The psychologists practice with children facing global development disorders

Os autores fazem uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a atuação do psicólogo frente aos transtornos globais do desenvolvimento infantil, especificamente sobre: autismo infantil, síndrome de Asperger e síndrome de Rett. Inicialmente, apresenta-se uma noção do desenvolvimento infantil, e, então, abordam-se os possíveis transtornos, com suas respectivas definições, etiologias, critérios diagnósticos, diagnóstico diferencial e tratamento. Durante o processo de intervenção e prevenção junto à criança, destacam-se a importância do psicólogo no tratamento e a eficácia dos recursos psicoterápicos para a melhora de qualidade de vida da criança com a síndrome.

The authors review the literature about the psychologists performance in relation to the global disruptions of the infantile development, specifically about: infantile autism, Asperger and Rett syndromes. Firstly, this work presents the infantile development view, and then it approaches the possible disruptions with its definitions, etiologies, diagnostic criterions, different diagnostics and treatment. During this intervention and prevention process with the child, stands out the importance of the psychologist action in the treatment and the effectiveness of the psychotherapy methods that might improve the life quality of the child with the syndrome.

The social representation of the psychologists work

O presente trabalho apresenta um sumário dos principais resultados de uma pesquisa que teve como objetivo conhecer as representações sociais da Psicologia e do trabalho do psicólogo. Os sujeitos foram 375 estudantes do penúltimo ano de graduação dos cursos da área da saúde da Universidade Gama Filho, que responderam a um questionário com cinco questões abertas e oito fechadas. Neste trabalho, analisaremos as respostas dadas a nove questões. Constatou-se que as representações acerca da Psicologia e do trabalho do psicólogo apontam para uma visão altamente subjetivista e individualista, onde as condições sociais, históricas e culturais presentes nas experiências subjetivas são excluídas. O estudo indica a urgência de uma reflexão sobre a responsabilidade social e ética do psicólogo.

This work presents a summary of the main results of a research that aims to know the social representations of Psychology and the psychologists work. The subjects were about 375 students of the graduation courses in the health ground of the University Gama Filho. They answered a questionaire with five opened questions and eight closed ones. In this work well analyse nine answers. We prove that representations about Psychology and the psychologists work indicate a top personal and subjective vision where the social, historical and cultural conditions in the subjective practices are eliminated. The work indicates the psychologists need of an essential reflection about his social responsibility and ethics.

Void pathologies: a challenge for contemporary clinic practice

Este trabalho procura apresentar as patologias do vazio, que incluem diagnósticos como os transtornos borderline e narcisista de personalidade, o conceito de falso self e o autismo. O presente texto baseou-se em pesquisa bibliográfica sobre a teoria da técnica psicanalítica. A teoria do desenvolvimento (principalmente a obra de Donald Winnicott) foi usada para compreender essas patologias regressivas. Uma análise de fragmento literário e um caso clínico estabelecem a ligação entre teoria e prática.

This work aims to present the void pathologies, which include diagnoses as borderline and narcissist disorders of personality, the concept of false self and autism. The present paper is based on bibliographical research on the theory of psychoanalytical technique. The development theory (mainly Donald Winnicotts work) was used to understand these regressive pathologies. An analysis of a literary fragment and of a clinical case establish the link between theory and practice.

The subjects identification and constitution

Este trabalho tem como objetivo traçar o percurso discursivo em Freud e Lacan, principalmente em seu Seminário IX, inédito, A Identificação, como um fenômeno importante para demarcar a constituição do sujeito.

The aim of this work is to outline Freud and Lacan´s discursive course, mainly Lacan´s original Seminar IX , The Identification as an important phenomenon to trace the constitution of the subject.

Brazilian academic production in Gestalt Therapy

O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar um panorama preliminar da produção acadêmica realizada sob a ótica da Gestalt-terapia e da abordagem gestáltica, no âmbito dos programas de pós-graduação (mestrado e doutorado), realizados em instituições de formação e pesquisa do Brasil. Trata-se de um projeto que visa a catalogar toda a produção referente à Gestalt-terapia e à abordagem gestáltica. Nesta primeira etapa, foram catalogadas e analisadas 35 dissertações de mestrado e teses de doutorado, defendidas no Brasil, entre 1982 e 2002. Foi realizada uma análise qualitativa dos resumos dessas produções, procurando-se observar os direcionamentos desses trabalhos com a abordagem de três eixos temáticos, definidos como fundamentos, teoria e técnica. Observou-se uma ênfase em trabalhos com temática epistemológica, principalmente em produções mais recentes, demonstrando uma preocupação dos profissionais com a fundamentação da Gestalt-terapia. Aliado a isso, observa-se, ainda, uma diversificação nas temáticas desenvolvidas, demonstrando uma ampliação dos eixos de ação da Gestalt-terapia para além do campo clínico.

The objective of this work is to present a preliminary panorama of the academic production on the Gestaltic-Therapy and on the gestaltic approach in graduation programs (Master Degrees and Doctorates), developed in graduation and research institutions in Brazil. It is part of a project that aims to catalog all production regarding the Gestalt-Therapy and the Gestaltic Approach. In the first stage, 35 Masters Degree papers and Doctorates theses, developed in Brasil from 1982 to 2002, were cataloged and analysed. A quality analysis was done from the abstracts of these productions, as an attempt to observe their direction, along three tematic axis defined as foundations, theory and techniques. It was noticed an emphasis on the epistemological thematic theses, particularly in recent productions, what shows a concern with the foundations of the Gestalt-Therapy. Besides, it was observed a variation in the subjects developed, exposing an enlargement in the axis of action of the Gestalt-Therapy that goes beyond the clinical field.

Management and of impression and selecting interview: chameleons in spot

O artigo trata das relações entre gerenciamento de impressão (GI) e comportamento de candidatos a cargos de gerência intermediária e de selecionadores em entrevista de seleção. Trata-se de pesquisa exploratória, realizada em duas consultorias de RH, tendo como sujeitos trinta candidatos e quatro selecionadoras. Os dados foram coletados através de entrevistas individuais, observações diretas e fontes documentais, sendo analisados à luz do referencial teórico. Os resultados indicam que candidatos e selecionadoras empregam estratégias e táticas de GI durante a entrevista de seleção. Percebe-se, ainda, uma homogeneização das orientações oferecidas aos candidatos, bem como do comportamento destes durante a entrevista de seleção, que resulta de modos de subjetivação ou de produção de estilos de vida que constroem sujeitos camaleônicos.

This research discusses the relationships among the impression management (IM) and the behavior of applicants for intermediate management positions and job interviewers. This is an exploratory research developed at two human resources consulting companies. The subjects were 30 applicants and 4 job interviewers. The data were collected through individual interviews, direct observation and documentary sources and the analysis was made based on the theoretical references. The results indicate that applicants and interviewers use IM strategies and tatics in the job interview . There is a homogenization of the guidelines given to the applicants, as well as their behavior, during the job interview, that results in subjectification strategies or types of creation of lifestyles that build chameleonic individuals.

Notarized exclusion certificate: the suffering of the Brazilian inmate

O presente trabalho trata a problemática da pena de prisão no Brasil partindo da discussão acerca do processo sociohistórico da exclusão social, e analisa o sofrimento que acomete os presidiários pela privação de poder de construção de novas perspectivas de vida. Revisando estudos sobre a produção da criminalidade na atualidade e sobre o sistema carcerário brasileiro, conclui-se que as prisões no Brasil operam como mecanismo de oficialização da exclusão que paira sobre as camadas populares.

The present work deals with the problems involving the imprisonment sentence in Brazil stemming from the discussion about sociohistorical process of social exclusion, and analyzes the suffering which overtakes the inmates by the privation of the power of construction of new perspectives in life. Revising studies on the current production of criminality and on the Brazilian prison system, it was concluded that prisons in Brazil operate as a mechanism that makes official the exclusion that already occurs towards the lower income classes.

The relationship between professor and students in High Education: the influence of the Educational Staff

Este artigo trata da relação professor-aluno na educação superior e da influência que esta recebe da gestão educacional. Foi realizada uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa do tipo etnográfico, englobando entrevistas e observação de campo, com alunos e professores de um curso de Pedagogia, no segundo semestre de 2002. Como resultado, verificou-se que a gestão educacional interfere na relação professor-aluno, em três níveis, concomitantemente: através das tomadas de decisão do gestor no processo pedagógico em geral; especificamente, em seu relacionamento com o professor e com o aluno e na orientação deste nas suas dificuldades e vicissitudes. Conclui-se que há necessidade de coerência entre teoria e prática na organização do trabalho pedagógico do professor e maior integração entre gestor e professor para melhor compatibilizar interesses e objetivos educacionais.

This is a study on the teacher-student relationship in undergraduation and the educational management influence on it. A qualitative ethnographicac aproach was applied, with enfolding interviews and observations with the students and the professors of the Pedagogy course in the second semester of the last year. We noticed that the educational management interferes in the teacher-student relationship at three levels concomitantly: through the managers decision-making in connection with the pedagogical process in general; specifically, in the managers relationship with the teacher and with the student and in the orientation given to the students in relation to their difficulties and vicissitudes. It was concluded that in the organization of the professors pedagogic work it stands clear the need of more coherence between theory and practice and also more integration between the educational management and the professor in order to make the interests and the educational objectives more compatible.

The psychologist as a facilitator of family intervention in case of neonatal intensive care

Neste artigo, apresentaremos a atenção com o processo interativo entre o bebê e sua família como uma das prioridades do psicólogo numa unidade de tratamento intensivo neonatal. Inicialmente, iremos caracterizar o ambiente de uma UTI neonatal e, em seguida, discutir o momento evolutivo da família a partir das experiências ocorridas durante a gestação e daquelas provocadas pelo parto antecipado ou de risco. Compreendendo esses dois aspectos - o ambiente e o momento em que se encontram os diferentes personagens familiares - discutiremos as possibilidades de cuidados que o psicólogo pode oferecer, privilegiando a saúde através de vias facilitadoras da interação familiar.

In this article we present the care in the interactive process between the baby and his family as one of the priorities of the psychologist in a neonatal intensive care unit. We will characterize the environment of a NICU, and then discuss the family moment based on the experiences that happened during the pregnancy and the ones caused by a premature or risk labor. After comprehending these two aspects - the environment and the moment that the different family characters are going through - we will discuss some of the attention that a psychologist can offer, providing health through the facilitation for the family interaction.

The cancer and its symbolic representation

Apesar dos avanços científicos e da revolução tecnológica, o conceito do câncer ainda está associado a sofrimento e morte. Sendo assim, essa conotação negativa é desfavorável para o desenvolvimento de atitudes preventivas. Com o presente estudo, objetiva-se investigar a representação simbólica do câncer em profissionais da área de saúde, pacientes, familiares e população em geral. Para tal, investigaram-se, através de um questionário, as imagens simbólicas que permeiam a atitude de cada um perante a convivência com o câncer. Os resultados indicaram informações ricas de subjetividade, independentemente das diferenças demográficas. A imagética interfere na percepção, na reação e na distribuição do tempo que cada um determina para a escuta da singularidade daquele que adoece com o câncer e/ou com a contaminação simbólica. Na medida em que o fantasma da morte acompanha o paciente em seus movimentos, espera-se que este estudo possa contribuir para que se busquem formas de aprimoramento do tratamento do paciente com câncer. No entanto, para ajudar o outro, é preciso, primeiramente, redimensionar a própria formação imagética; afinal, nós, profissionais da área de saúde, também somos semeadores das imagens que se reproduzem ao longo dos séculos, apesar de toda a evolução científica.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the symbolic representation of cancer, in order to help health professionals, patients, relatives involved, and others who might have interest on this subject, through questionnaires. The research collected data to show the different reactions of people directly involved with cancer. The results show that, despite of the demographic differences, the answers were extremely taken as personal. The self image interferes on the perception, reactions, and time line organization of the patients and those affected by the symbolic contamination. As the death gets closer to the patients, this research might help to improve the existents methods of treatment. Not so ever, in order to help others, it is necessary to fortify own self image. After all, we, health professionals are the ones to reproduce those images along the centuries, despite of the scientific improvements.
