Listening to the adolescents through graffiti in the urban centers

Este trabalho faz uma apreciação do fenômeno do grafite nas grandes cidades, contextualizando o protagonismo adolescente na atividade da grafitagem como uma forma de resistência aos processos de exclusão postos em prática no capitalismo.No seu decurso, descobrimos o grafite como uma ação de cidadania na qual os adolescentes, na contramão do estilo de vida que vem sendo produzido pela modernidade, conseguem engajar-se.

This paper makes an appreciation of the phenomenon of graphite in the big cities, contextualizing the adolescent behavior in the activity of graphiting as a way of resistance against the exclusion processes produced by capitalism. In its continuation, we discover that graphite is an action of citizenship in which adolescents, in an expression against modernity lifestyle, get to engage themselves.

Communication and mental health: the democratization of the communications' media as an instrument of identity reconstruction

Este estudo aborda a emergência de novas formas de subjetivação no contexto da reforma psiquiátrica, tendo como referência os meios de comunicação, aqui particularmente considerando o veículo da TV Comunitária. Relata a experiência do núcleo de vídeo do Instituto Philippe Pinel do Rio de Janeiro, com uma proposta de televisão comunitária produzida pelos usuários da instituição. Aponta para a legitimidade da democratização desses meios como possibilidade de contrapartida ao processo de segregação social e ao assujeitamento psicótico fomentados pelo predomínio das práticas asilares que circunscreveram a doença mental historicamente. Reflete sobre as ações no âmbito local (embasadas nas relações de "pertencimento" e participação grupal) utilizando um meio global (linguagem televisiva) como importante via de reconstrução do lugar social do portador de transtorno mental.

This research approaches the emergence of new ways of subjetivity, according to the psychiatric reform, refering to the means of communication, emphasizing the Communitarian TV. It reports the experience between the video nucleus from Philippe Pinel Institute in Rio de Janeiro and a proposal from a communitarian channel, produced by the users of the institution. It points to the legitimacy of the democratization of these means against the social segregation and the psychotic subordination, supported by the asylum practices that embraced the mental diseases historically. It discusses the local actions (based on membership relationships and group participation) using a global way (television language) as an important way to rebuild the social place of the mental deficiency.

From the necessity to the demand: producing subjects

O texto visa mostrar parte da complexidade social atual - através dos conceitos de modernidade e pós-modernidade - enquanto possível produtora de subjetividades afetadas ou condicionadas pela dificuldade na constituição da dimensão simbólica e imaginária do sujeito e também as estratégias que se vislumbram, para a Psicologia, no sentido de poder incidir e intervir sobre essas questões.

The text aims to show part of the modern social complexity - through the concepts of modernity and post modernity - while possible producer of subjectivities effected by the difficulty to constitute the symbolic and imaginary dimension of the subject, the strategies that can be discerned by Psychology, trying to fall on and to interfere in these questions.

O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar como o compositor Chico Buarque discorre, em inúmeras composições, sobre os desenlaces da vida cotidiana das chamadas classes populares brasileiras e dos personagens que as constituem, potencializando e vitalizando suas narrativas. Para tanto, partimos do pressuposto que, sob a égide de um discurso historicamente construído, as vozes das classes populares foram, e são, continuamente desqualificadas e ouvidas pelo prisma da falta e da carência.Outrossim, cremos ser possível observar, na obra do artista, uma radical singularidade quanto ao cotidiano desses personagens, promovendo novos olhares sobre seus modos de vida e apresentando alternativas promissoras ao enfrentamento das lógicas naturalizadoras proferidas por discursos hegemônicos.

The objective of this work is to analyze how composer Chico Buarque discourses through numerous pieces of music in the daily life outcome of the so-called Brazilian lower social classes and their characters, powering and vitalizing his narratives.To do so, the work was based on the fact that, under a historically built speech, the lower-class voices have been continuously underrated, as well as listened to through the prism of lack and privation.Likewise, we believe its possible to notice in the artists work radical singularity about those characters everyday life, allowing the arousal of new insights into their way of life and showing promising alternatives to face the naturalizing logic uttered in hegemonic speeches.

Effects of the globalization and of the network society on the constitutions of the contemporary identities via internet

A sociedade em rede, através da mídia e da internet, é o resultado de transformações econômicas, tecnológicas, sociais e culturais que abrangem todo o planeta, fenômenos esses chamados genericamente de globalização. Este artigo investiga tais mudanças no âmbito da Psicologia, em particular no que se refere à formação de identidades contemporâneas. Inicialmente, são discutidas as principais correntes teóricas da Comunicação e a internet como mídia interativa, para então abordar aspectos psicológicos relativos à globalização nos caminhos da internet e como estes podem influenciar novas maneiras de construir relações sociais e atividades que criam novas visões de mundo.

The network society created by the mass media and the internet is the outcome of economical, technological, social and cultural changes that affect the whole planet, which are known generically as globalization. This article investigates such changes in the context of Psychology, particularly their role in the formation of contemporary identities. Main communication theories and the internet as an interactive media are discussed, as well as the psychological aspects in relation to the globalization by way of the internet and how these affect social activities and relationships that shape new worldviews.

Social representations of violence in String Literature about cangaço

O cangaço é uma forma de banditismo social típica do Nordeste brasileiro, cujas histórias, veiculadas nos folhetos de cordel, transmitem representações acerca dos mais diversos objetos sociais, dentre eles a violência. O objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar a representação social da violência em cordéis sobre o cangaço. Foram pesquisados 12 (doze) folhetos, cuja análise, a partir do software ALCESTE, produziu quatro classes de palavras, agrupadas em dois eixos: o primeiro, ligado à narrativa jornalística do cangaço, e o segundo eixo, fortemente marcado por idéias que indicam um julgamento moral dos atores sociais envolvidos, forjando uma identidade social para nordestinos, sertanejos e cangaceiros.

Cangaço is a sort of social banditism, typical of the Brazilian Northeast, whose stories published at the cordel´s pamphlets can communicate the social representation about many types of social objects, including violence. The main objective of this work was to research the social representation of violence at the cordel´s pamphlets about cangaço. Twelve (12) pamphlets were examined by the software ALCESTE which produced four (4) word classes grouped in two axes: the first one is related to the journalistic narrative of cangaço and the second axis is strongly characterized by ideas that indicate a moral judgment about the social actors involved, producing a social identity to northeastern people, sertanejos and cangaceiros.

The influence of the social mass media on the professional options: what does it rouse to the professional/vocational orientations in Psychology?

Buscamos refletir, neste ensaio, acerca da influência dos meios de comunicação social para a problemática da escolha profissional, considerando-a como um ponto crítico do processo de constituição do sujeito. A inclusão da discussão sobre a influência da mídia na escolha profissional é, aqui, analisada como alternativa para um maior alcance social da orientação vocacional/ profissional.

In this paper, we seek to reflect about the implications of the means of social communication to the professional choice issue, considering this a critical point of the persons constitution. The inclusion of the discussion about the midias influence in the professional choice is analyzed here as an alternative for a wider social range at career counseling and vocational guidance.

Identity, deaf culture and the building of subjectivity and education: crossings and social implications

A questão da identidade é uma das mais caras para a Psicologia. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho é investigar como a identidade se constitui na presença da surdez. Para tal, realizou-se uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, sendo feitas quatro entrevistas com pessoas surdas, enfocando o processo de construção de identidade. Os resultados apontaram a necessidade de os surdos desenvolverem ações afirmativas, consolidando uma comunidade e uma cultura singular. A contribuição deste estudo é mostrar como a condição funcional é importante para a constituição da identidade e também para a organização dos jogos políticos em que vivem os grupos surdos e ouvintes.

The issue of identity is one of the most important for Psychology. So, the aim of this paper is to investigate how identity is constituted as confronted with deafness. A qualitative research was done to bring it out. In this study, four interviews were done with deaf people focusing the identity construction process. The results point out the deaf peoples need of developing affirmative actions so as to consolidate a singular community and culture. The contribution of this study is to show how important the functional condition is for the constitution of identity, as well as the organization of political games wherein both deaf and hearing groups live.

Transiting between sheets and bytes the expression of the printed and digital media in the cultures and the subjectivity production

A comunicação pode ser entendida através de diversos dispositivos. Neste trabalho, optou-se pela escrita. Esta bifurca-se devido às transformações tecnológicas e culturais: a permanência dos meios de comunicação impressos juntamente à escrita digital. A partir disso, é possível analisar a sua coexistência como também a relação desses modos de comunicação com a cultura e os processos de subjetivação. Propõe-se pensar a mídia e os sistemas de comunicação inseparáveis da cultura a partir de um enfoque genealógico. Nesse sentido, percebe-se a processualidade dos agentes sociais de diferentes épocas. Para tanto, o trabalho tem a proposta da tecelagem, onde vários autores, como Marshall McLuhan, Pierre Lévy, Félix Guattari, Neil Postman, André Lemos e Celso Cândido contribuem com diferentes fios, propondo, portanto, um entendimento transdisciplinar da relação entre cultura, mídia e subjetividade.

Communication can be understood through several dispositives or modes of communication. For this study, writing was chosen as the mode of communication. It bifurcates-due to technological and cultural transformations-into the existence of printed media and digital writing. From this point of view, it is possible to analyze the coexistence of printed media and digital writing. It is also possible to analyze the relation of these media to culture and subjectification. Starting from a genealogical focus, the study proposes that media and communication systems cannot be understood apart from culture. In this sense, it is possible to perceive the processuality of the social agents in different time periods. Therefore, the study has a weaving character, where some authors like Marshall Mc Luhan, Pierre Lévy, Félix Guattari, Neil Postman, André Lemos and Celso Cândido contribute with various threads, suggesting a multidisciplinary understanding of the relationship among culture, media and subjectivity.

Psychometrics parameters: an analysis of the psychological tests commercialized in Brazil

As técnicas utilizadas na avaliação psicológica têm provocado questionamentos nas comunidades científicas e profissionais brasileiras, tanto no que se refere à qualidade dos instrumentos, de maneira geral, ao uso que os psicólogos fazem dos instrumentos, bem como em relação à validade geral dos resultados da avaliação psicológica. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo identificar as principais informações psicométricas a respeito dos instrumentos psicológicos presentes em seus manuais, tais como editora, data de publicação, variável medida, padronização, validade e precisão. Foram consultados 146 instrumentos de avaliação comercializados no Brasil por onze editoras. Os resultados indicaram que somente 28,8% desses instrumentos relatam estudos de precisão, validade e padronização. Esses resultados sugerem que a Psicologia brasileira tem-se caracterizado por despender pouca atenção aos fundamentos científicos de sua prática profissional.

Psychological assessment instruments have been questioned by the scientific and professional community in respect to their general psychometric quality, the use that psychologists give to their instruments and also to the general validity of the results of the psychological assessment. The aim of this paper is to identify the main psychometric information of the commercialized psychological tests as reported in their manuals, as well as publisher, date, construct measuring, standardization, validity and reliability. It analyzes 146 instruments commercialized by 11 editors. The results show that only 28.8% of these instruments report reliability, validity and standardization studies in their manuals. These results suggest that Brazilian Psychology has been characterized by a less than desirable concern about the scientific basis of its professional practices.

Some questions about art and the undergraduate education of psychologists

Este artigo pretende analisar algumas das contribuições da arte para a formação do psicólogo. A partir de uma proposta de estágio supervisionado na área de Psicologia Escolar envolvendo atividades referentes à arte, foi possível constatar mudanças nos estagiários participantes do trabalho em função de um contato aprofundado com música, literatura e artes visuais. Fica patente a necessidade de se pensar a importância da arte na formação pessoal e profissional do psicólogo desde o seu ingresso na universidade.

This article aims to analyze some of the contributions of art for the training of psychologists. Through a supervised internship in the area of School Psychology which involved art activities, it was possible to perceive changes in the work of the participating interns due to a profound contact with music, literature and visual arts. The necessity of thinking about the importance of art in the personal and professional training of psychologists since the beginning of their college entrance revealed to be evident.

The re-orientation of the Mental Health attention: about the quality and the humanization of the assistance

Objetiva-se, neste trabalho, desenvolver uma reflexão em torno de algumas questões que se configuram como desafios importantes para gestores e profissionais ligados ao Sistema Único de Saúde - SUS. Diz respeito, também, à discussão sobre a qualidade e humanização das ações de saúde, dentre as quais se inserem aquelas do campo da saúde mental. Ambos os conceitos vêm ocupando um lugar de destaque no processo de reforma da assistência psiquiátrica em curso no Brasil e no discurso dos profissionais do campo, norteando os caminhos por onde deve trilhar a atenção em saúde mental. Trata-se de uma tentativa de abordagem da qualidade e humanização de uma perspectiva diversa daquelas que associam esses conceitos à lucratividade, desospitalização e assistencialismo, de articulá-los ao princípio da desinstitucionalização enquanto negação da lógica manicomial a que subjazem subjetividades e práticas e de instrumentalizá-las enquanto dispositivos éticos comprometidos com a invenção de novos modos de vida.

The objective of this paper is to reflect upon some issues that constitute challenges to the Unified Health System managers and professionals, the quality and the humanization process in the health actions in mental health. Both concepts hold a prominent place in the psychiatric care reform process currently established in Brazil, as well as in the discourse of the professionals in mental health care. It discusses the quality and the humanization concepts differently from the traditional financial gains, nonhospitalization and assistencialist perspective. Instead they are linked to the principle of noninstitucionalization as a negation of the asylum logic that undermines subjective practices and enforces them as ethical mechanisms in the search for innovative life modes.
