The 'life certificate': A tool for grief work in Singapore

Este artigo apresenta uma alternativa à formal e impessoal certidão de óbito - a Certidão de Vida, um documento narrativo terapêutico que presta homenagem às vidas daqueles que morreram. O artigo mostra exemplos de Certidões de Vida utilizadas, assim como um mapa de seis etapas de prática narrativa que pode ser seguido simultaneamente, para ajudar a renegociar o relacionamento das pessoas com o luto.

This article proposes an alternative to the formal, impersonal document of the death certificate - a Life Certificate, a narrative therapeutic document to honour the lives of lost loved ones. The article shows examples of the Life Certificate used in practice, as well as a six-stage map of narrative practice that can be used in conjunction with it, to help renegotiate peoples relationships with grief.

Contributions and implications of the dialogical perspective: the therapist’s self in the family/couple therapy

A perspectiva dialógica sobre a terapia familiar nos convida a ver outro ângulo que a prática terapêutica pode assumir, especialmente ao considerarmos a participação do terapeuta no processo de mudanças. Neste artigo, cujo método adotado foi a revisão bibliográfica narrativa de cunho exploratório e abordagem qualitativa, buscamos percorrer brevemente sobre a literatura científica de autores que discorreram sobre alguns dos principais conceitos que inspiram a abordagem dialógica, contribuindo para refletirmos mais diligentemente sobre as mudanças de posições que tomamos quando nos dirigimos à complexidade do encontro terapêutico com famílias/casais. Ainda existe muito a se investigar sobre conceitos dialógicos nesse contexto, e há terapeutas de família que têm se dedicado a analisar aspectos dialógicos na respectiva área de atuação, propondo o registro posterior da conversação interna do terapeuta para ampliar o entendimento da experiência terapêutica e fomentar a pesquisa em psicoterapia familiar em uma abordagem dialógica. Concluímos que essa perspectiva, influenciada pelo desconstrutivo pensamento pós-moderno, ajuda a ampliar alguns dos conceitos mais presentes na atual geração da terapia familiar, tornando-os menos idealizados na prática clínica e, portanto, mais úteis ao nosso entendimento sobre a complexidade do trabalho com famílias/casais.

The dialogical perspective regarding family therapy invites us to see another angle that therapeutic practice may assume, especially when we consider the therapist’s participation in the process of change. In this article, in which the method adopted was a narrative bibliographic review, of exploratory nature and qualitative approach, we went briefly over the scientific literature of authors who have discussed some of the main concepts that inspire the dialogical approach, contributing to make us reflect more diligently about the changing positions we take when heading into the complexity of the therapeutic meeting with families/couples. There is much to investigate about the dialogical concepts in this context, and there are family therapists who have been analyzing dialogical aspects in their respective field of work, proposing the later recording of the therapist's inner conversation to foster the understanding of the therapeutic experience and to foment the research in family psychotherapy in a dialogical approach. We conclude that this perspective, influenced by the deconstructive postmodern thinking, helps amplifying some of the recurring concepts of the current generation of family therapy, making them less idealized in clinical practice and, therefore, more useful to our understanding about the complexity of working with families/couples.

Generative model as guide for creation of the mediation team at the Noos Institute

Orientado pelas premissas da perspectiva generativa, este artigo relata a criação do Núcleo de Mediação Transformativa no Instituto Noos. A Perspectiva Generativa é uma das abordagens oriundas da teoria sistêmica e dos novos paradigmas pós-modernos. Tecendo uma dança entre teoria e ação, apresentamos os momentos generativos na criação e implementação do Núcleo de Mediação, enaltecendo o foco no recurso, nas competências e valores das pessoas. Temos como objetivo demonstrar como as premissas da prática generativa favorecem a formação da equipe de trabalho e da intervisão (supervisão). Acreditamos que, ao proporcionar um ambiente relacional onde cuidamos de nossos colaboradores de forma horizontal, observando os aspectos éticos, das interações, envolvendo a todos em um clima de acolhimento e participação colaborativa, auxiliamos no melhor atendimento de nossos clientes. A partir desta postura criamos condições de fomentar um grupo de trabalho que se autorregule no modelo de uma comunidade de prática e comunidade de aprendizagem, a fim de estimular a produção de conhecimento e promover melhores práticas no atendimento em Mediação.

Guided by the premises of the generative perspective, this work reports the creation of the Nucleus of Transformative Mediation at the Instituto Noos. The Generative Perspective is one of the approaches derived from systemic theory and new postmodern paradigms. Weaving a dance between theory and action, we present the generative moments in the creation and implementation of the Nucleus of Mediation, highlighting the focus on the resource, on the skills and values of the people. We aim to demonstrate, as the premises of generative practice favor the formation of the work team and the supervision (supervision). We believe that by providing a relational environment where we take care of our employees horizontally, observing ethical aspects, interactions, involving everyone in a welcoming and collaborative participation environment, we assist in the best service of our clients. From this position we create conditions to foster a work group that is self-regulated in the model of a community of practice and learning community, in order to stimulate the production of knowledge to promote better practices in the service in Mediation.

Promotion of health in the context of significant social networks

A promoção da saúde valoriza a atenção à integralidade e as relações sociais consideradas significativas. O presente texto objetivou discutir as relações entre a promoção da saúde e as redes sociais significativas. O conceito de promoção da saúde foi contextualizado por meio de políticas públicas, e a definição de redes sociais significativas foi complementada com a apresentação do instrumento de pesquisa e intervenção denominado de mapa de redes. Buscou-se apresentar pesquisas que relacionaram redes sociais significativas e saúde evidenciando as contribuições desse construto teórico no campo da Psicologia e saúde. Foram verificadasas aproximações conceituais entre promoção da saúde e as redes sociais, o que permite ressaltar a importância de ações articuladas considerando que os vínculos sociais representam fatores de proteção da saúde integral.

The promotion of health values the development of actions that seek to foster the integrality of individuals and groups, considering that the social relations considered significant are generating quality of life and health. The present text aimed to present the relationship between health promotion and significant social networks. The concept of health promotion was contextualized through public policies, and the definition of meaningful social networks was complemented with the presentation of the research and intervention instrument called the network map. We sought to present research that related significant social networks and health evidencing contributions in people's lives. Based on an example of network map application, the results were presented considering the concept of health promotion and psychosocial repercussions. The conceptual approaches between health promotion and social networks were verified, which allows to emphasize the importance of articulated actions considering that the social bonds represent integral health protection factors.

Meanings attributed by adoptive parents to late adoption and to the construction of parent-child bonds

Neste artigo são analisados os sentidos atribuídos por pais adotivos à construção de vínculos parento-filiais, ou seja, vinculações que pressupõem o sentimento de pertencimento a uma família. Apresentam-se as análises de uma pesquisa qualitativa, da qual participaram quatro pessoas (um pai e três mães) de diferentes famílias que realizaram adoção tardia e que residem na região da Grande Florianópolis (SC). Foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas. As narrativas escutadas foram observadas tendo como referência teórico-metodológica a “análise de práticas discursivas e de produção de sentidos” de Spink e Medrado (2013). As análises indicaram alguns sentidos sobre a construção de vínculos parento-filiais em casos de adoção tardia, tais como: necessidade de construir uma adaptação para a criança que está sendo incluída na relação familiar; integração do passado da criança na dinâmica e na história da família atual; compreensão dos mecanismos de defesa da criança; promoção de sentimentos de pertencimento. Considera-se que a construção de vínculos parento-filiais é um indicativo do potencial sucesso da adoção; e que essa construção perpassa todo o processo, desde o período de decisão em adotar crianças até a consolidação dos vínculos parento-filiais na nova dinâmica familiar.

This paper analyses the meanings attributed by adoptive parents to the construction of parent-child bonds, that means, bonds that presuppose the feeling of belonging to a family. It presents the analysis of qualitative research, in which participated four late adopters (one father and three mothers) of different families living in the area of Greater Florianópolis (SC). Individual interviews were conducted through a semi-structured script. The narratives were analyzed according to the methodology of “discursive practices and meanings production analysis”, as proposed by Spink and Medrado (2013). The analysis indicates some meanings about the construction of parent-child bonds in cases of late adoption, such as: the necessity of constructing an adaptation to the child that is being included in the new family; integration of the child's past into the dynamics and history of the current family; understanding of aversive behaviors of the child; and promoting feelings of belonging. It is considered that the construction of parent-child bonds is an indicator of potential for success of the adoption process; and that this construction runs through the whole process, since the decision-making in adopting children until the strengthening of the parent-child bonds in the new family dynamics.

Challenges and strategies implemented in the adoption of older children and adolescents

A adoção é medida excepcional e irrevogável, à qual se deve recorrer apenas quando esgotados todos os recursos de manutenção da criança ou adolescente na família natural ou extensa. Essa modalidade de constituição familiar ainda é cercada por preconceitos, principalmente quando se trata de adoção de crianças maiores e adolescentes, a chamada adoção tardia. O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar oito casos de adoção de crianças maiores de dois anos e adolescentes para verificar os desafios enfrentados por adotantes e adotandos na adaptação familiar e quais estratégias foram utilizadas para lidar com os mesmos. Realizou-se estudo retrospectivo documental com estudos sociais efetuados após o estágio de convivência. Verificou-se que a convivência familiar dos adotantes com os adotandos nos primeiros meses de adaptação foi difícil, no entanto, as estratégias utilizadas, tais como auxílio psicológico familiar, busca por atendimento médico especializado, apoio da família extensa, paciência, reforço positivo sobre a adoção e persistência dos pais para superar as dificuldades contribuíram para o êxito dessas adoções.

Adoption is an exceptional and irrevocable measure, which should only be used when all the resources of maintenance of the child or adolescent in the natural or extended family have been exhausted. This modality of family constitution is still surrounded by prejudice, especially when it comes to adoption of older children and adolescents, what is called late adoption. The present study aimed to analyze eight cases of adoption of children over two years old and adolescents to verify the challenges faced by adopters and adoptees in family adaptation and what strategies were adopted to deal with them. A retrospective documentary study was carried out with social studies performed after the cohabitation stage. It was verified that the familiar coexistence of adopters with adoptees in the first months of adaptation was difficult, however, strategies used such as family psychological help, search for specialized medical care, extended family support, patience, positive reinforcement on adoption and persistence of parents to overcome the difficulties contributed to the success of these adoptions.

Systemic intervention in the context of therapy with a man author of violence against women: case study

Este artigo relata o estudo de caso de um homem autor de violência em processo terapêutico em uma Clínica-Escola de Florianópolis. Seu objetivo é compreender a importância da terapia sistêmica para homens autores de violência. Notou-se, nesse sentido, repetição de comportamento familiar, sendo possível uma compreensão intergeracional. Percebeu-se também que as perspectivas utilizadas permitiram adentrar com mais profundidade o mundo vivido do paciente e seus processos de significação na construção da narrativa de sua trajetória. Espera-se, com este artigo, ampliar possibilidades para o atendimento com homens autores de violência.

This article reports the case study of a man who committed violence in a therapeutic process at a Clinic School in Florianópolis. It's objective is to understand the importance of systemic therapy for men who commit violence. A repetition of familiar behavior was noticed, being possible an intergenerational understanding. It was noticed that the perspectives used, allowed to penetrate with more depth to the world the patient lived and its processes of signification in the construction of the narrative of its trajectory. This article hopes to expand possibilities for the care with men authors of violence.
