The clinical psychology and the learning difficulties

O presente artigo trata das relações entre os problemas no processo de aprendizagem e os de produção de subjetividade no universo escolar do mundo contemporâneo. Problematiza os modos clássicos de tratamento às chamadas dificuldades de aprendizagem e busca compreender o envolvimento dos diferentes atores na produção das referidas dificuldades. Os problemas no processo de aprendizagem serão considerados transversais e, portanto, capazes de proporcionar transformações teóricas. As interrogações básicas são: como é possível pensar os problemas na aprendizagem (as paradas, os bloqueios) como condição do próprio processo de aprendizagem em conexão intrínseca com a produção de subjetividade; como as práticas clínicas têm dado conta dessa conexão?

This article explores the relations between the learning disturbancies and subjectivity production in the contemporary world of school´s universe. It discusses the traditional forms of treatment to the learning difficulties and tries to better understand the involvement of the several actors in the production of such difficulties. The problems about learning process will be considered transversal and, therefore, capable to provide theoretical transformations. The main interrogations are: is it possible to think the learning problems as depending of learning process conditions in intrinsic connection with the subjectivity production; how the clinical practices deal with this connection?

Reflections about the potential space

O trabalho visa discutir o conceito winnicottiano de espaço potencial e mostrar como este conceito foi norteador no atendimento de uma família cuja queixa era dificuldade de aprendizagem de um de seus membros. A partir da minha experiência, quero mostrar que o espaço potencial criado entre o sistema familiar e o terapêutico propic iou um continente seguro para o brincar, para a criação de símbolos e significados que fizessem sentido para o cliente e seu grupo familiar e, ainda, para que legados de sua cultura pudessem ser introduzidos como elementos enriquecedores da compreensão da dinâmica familiar.

The work aims to argue the Winnicotts concept of potential space and sample as this concept was important in the attendance of a family whose complaint was difficulty of learning of one of its members. From my experience, I want to show that the potential space between the familiar and the therapeutical system propitiated a safe continent for the play, for the creation of symbols and meanings that still made sense for the customer and its familiar group and, yet, for that the legacies of its culture could be introduced as enrichment elements of the understanding of the familiar dynamics.

Government, justice and police social representation: a study in popular and middle classes in the great vitória regional

O objetivo do presente trabalho é analisar representações sociais de governo, justiça e polícia, em sujeitos das classes média e popular, de ambos os sexos, residentes na Grande Vitória/ES. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevistas semi-dirigidas com oitenta e um sujeitos da classe média e sessenta da classe popular. Este trabalho é fruto de uma pesquisa mais ampla que apresentou diversos resultados, uma vez que os dados obtidos foram submetidos a análises qualitativas e quantitativas. No presente artigo será discutida a questão do descrédito nas instituições responsáveis por manter a ordem e a justiça (governo e polícia) e suas relações com a violência. De um modo geral, ambas as classes sociais pesquisadas parecem ter concepções semelhantes no que se refere a esses aspectos.

The objective of this paper is to analyze government, justice and police social representations, involving popular and middle classes individuals of both sexes, residing in the Great Vitória Region. The data was collected throught semi-directed interviews with eighty-one middleclass and sixty popular class subjects. This work belongs to a more complex research, that had many results, because the data was submitted to quantitative and qualitative analysis. In this article we will discuss the low belief in those institutions which are responsible to sustain order and justice (government and police) and their relation with violence. Both classes, in a general way, seem to have the same concepts on the theme analyzed in this paper.

Criteria of indications for brief psychotherapy with children and parents

Este trabalho visa discutir aspectos relevantes relacionados a critérios de indicação para psicoterapia psicodinâmica breve de crianças e pais. Faz um levantamento dos critérios adotados por autores que estudaram o tema e ressalta a necessidade de se levar em conta não só as características do paciente, mas também as do terapeuta e as do contexto onde se realiza o atendimento. No que se refere aos pacientes, sugere que sejam considerados entre os critérios de indicação: nível de dependência da criança, tipo e intensidade das expectativas que os pais têm em relação a esta criança, o quanto os pais se vêem envolvidos no problema, possibilidades dos pais de tolerar mudanças, possibilidades de estabelecer uma aliança terapêutica, condições ps íquicas e nível de desenvolvimento da criança.

This article aims to discuss relevant aspects related to indication criteria for brief psychodynamic psychotherapy with children and parents. It makes a survey of the criteria adopted by authors who have studied this subject and stands out the necessity of taking in account not only the patient characteristics but also the therapist ones, and those of the context where the psychotherapy takes place. As for the patients, it suggests to be considered among the indication criteria: level of the child dependence, type and intensity of the parents expectations related to this child, how much the parents see themselves as involved in the problem, possibilities of the parents to tolerate changes, possibilities to establish a therapeutic alliance, psychic conditions and level of development of the child.

The school/education psychology in the children education: a report on an experience with parents and educators

Este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar a experiência de estágio obrigatório em Psicologia escolar/educacional do curso de Psicologia da Universidade do Vale do Itajaí que foi desenvolvido em uma instituição pública de Educação Infantil. O enfoque teórico utilizado abrange uma visão sócio-histórica do desenvolvimento e aprendizagem na infância. Aborda a importância das relações entre a escola, educadoras e os pais e qual o papel destes na educação da criança. Como estratégias para atingir os objetivos propostos foram utilizados murais informativos para as educadoras e encontros de orientação aos pais. Esta intervenção promove uma aproximação escola-pais, proporcionando a participação e a integração dos envolvidos no processo educativo.

This article intends to present the experiences gained in the compulsory training in school and educational Psychology for the Psychology course of the UNIVALI (Vale do Itajaí University) that was undertaken in an official institution for children education. The theoretical focus utilized includes a social-historic view of the development and apprenticeship in childhood. It broaches the importance of the relations among school, educators, and parents, and its role in the children bringing up. The strategies to achieve our goal included information wall charts for the educators and orientation meetings for the parents. This intervention promotes an approximation between school and parents, yielding the participation and integration of the bring-up process involved agents.

Inattentional blindness and preconscious perception

Os estudos experimentais em percepção pré-consciente possuem uma conexão com os estudos cognitivos em cegueira inatencional. Alguns dos experimentos desenvolvidos para estudar a percepção préconsciente são baseados na Psicanálise, seguindo os escritos de Freud sobre interpretação dos sonhos. Alguns aspectos da teoria psicanalítica sobre a cognição são analisados numa perspectiva metapsicológica.Nos anos 70 os estudos experimentais sobre percepção consciente em Psicologia Cognitiva descreveram o efeito de cegueira de mudança devido ao movimento ocular. Os estudos em cegueira inatencional baseiam-se na pesquisa de Neisser sobre olhar seletivo e dizem respeito ao fenômeno de anulação perceptiva temporária de determinados objetos por falta de atenção. Analisam-se brevemente a metodologia e as implicações práticas desses estudos.

The experimental studies on preconscious perception have a link with the cognitive studies on inattentional blindness. Some of the experiments developed to study the preconscious perception are based on Psychoanalysis, following the writtings of Freud about dream interpretation. Some aspects of the psychoanalytical theory on cognition are analyzed in a metapsychological point of view. In the 70s the experimental studies on conscious perception described the change blindness effect due to ocular movement. The studies on inattentional blindness are based on Neissers research about selective looking and deal with the phenomenon of temporary perceptive annulment of certain objects by lacking of attention. The methodology and practical implications of those studies are analysed in brief.

The ego in crisis: adolescent pregnancy

El siguiente trabajo, cuyo objetivo es analizar las funciones yoicas de un grupo de adolescentes embarazadas, surge a partir de la Tesis de Licenciatura en Psicología Vicisitudes del Yo en la adolescente embarazada. Análisis de su funcionamiento, de la Universidad Nacional de San Luis, Argentina. Los cambios producidos en la adolescencia son tan continuos que llevan a pensar que un yo sometido a una permanente crisis debe adoptar características espec íficas como instancia mediadora y organizadora de la personalidad. El yo adolescente debe enfrentar experiencias de duelo y la resolución de estos permitirá una salida autónoma y madura de esta etapa y por lo tanto el logro de una identidad personal. La maternidad precoz pude llegar a ser un factor que precipite la asunción de roles adultos sin que se haya logrado una elaboración de estos factores, por lo cual es posible que se encuentren fallas en la estructuración y/o funcionamiento yoico, ya que el embarazo implica también situaciones de pérdida en relación al cuerpo, a los objetos externos (familia) y a los objetos internos (identificaciones). La muestra no probabilística accidental está constituida por 14 adolescentes embarazadas de la ciudad de San Luis, Argentina. Se analizarán las funciones yoicas (adaptación a la realidad, sentido de realidad, control de los impulsos y defensas) a partir de los datos obtenidos en el psicodiagnóstico de Rorschach.

The present work, whose objective is to analyse the ego functions in a group of pregnant adolescents, develops from the thesis of the degree in Psychology entitled Vicissitudes of the Ego in Pregnant Adolescents: Analysis of its functioning. The changes undergone in the adolescence are so continuous that lead to think that an ego subjugated to a permanent crisis must adopt specific characteristics as a mediating and organizing moment of the personality. The adolescent ego must face mourning experiences and the resolution of these will allow an autonomous and nature way out of this stage and, therefore, the achievement of a personal identity. Precocious motherhood may become a factor that rushes the taking on of adult roles, without having achieved an elaboration of these factors, so that it is possible to find flaws in the structuring and or working of the ego, since pregnancy also implies situations of loss in relation to the body, to external objects (family) and to internal objects (identifications). The accidental non-probabilistic sample is made up of 14 pregnant adolescents younger than 20 years old, from the city of San Luis, Argentina. The functions of the ego (adjustment to reality, sense of reality, control of impulses and defenses) will be analysed starting from the dat obtained in the Rorschac h psychodiagnosis.

The machovers human figure drawing applied in wanderings

A presença de andarilhos de estrada é cada vez mais notável nos acostamentos das rodovias brasileiras. Diversos estudos têm sido realizados com essa população, mas pouco enfoque tem sido dado às características psicológicas desses sujeitos. Com o objetivo de investigar aspectos da personalidade dos mesmos, foi aplicado o Desenho da Figura Humana de Machover em doze andarilhos albergados em uma instituição assistencial da cidade de São Carlos (SP). As produções gráficas foram avaliadas e analisadas em seus aspectos formais, gerais e de conteúdo. As interpretações formuladas indicam que os sujeitos estudados possuem uma auto-imagem corporal desfavorável, marcada por sentimentos de inadequação e depreciação. Notou-se ainda a existência de indícios de conflitos sexuais, dificuldades nos relacionamentos sociais e dependência etílica. Tais interpretações não são conclusivas, mas contribuem para a compreensão de aspectos importantes da dinâmica psíquica dessa população marginalizada socialmente.

The presence of wanderings is more and more notable in brazilian roads. Several studies have been done with this population, but few emphasis has been given to psychological characteristics of this people. With the purpose to investigate personality aspects of them, the Machovers Human Figure Drawing was applied in twelve wanderings sheltered in an assistential institute of São Carlos (SP) city. The grafic produtions were valued and analyzed in their formal, general and content aspects. The formulated interpretations indicate that the studied people have a body image branded by inadequacy and depreciation feelings. It had been noted the existence of sexual conflicts signals, hardness in social relationships and inclination to alcoholism. Those interpretations are not conclusive, but contribute to the compreension of important psychodynamics aspects of this populations.
