O artigo analisa as influências dos fatores biomédicos (biológicos, genéticos, perinatais) e dos ambientais (interação pais-bebê, situação familiar, situação socioeconômica e outros), através de uma revisão de vários trabalhos; sobre o desenvolvimento dos recémnascidos (RNs) prematuros (PMTs) e os efeitos de intervenções centradas na família.

O presente artigo aborda a importância da família no desenvolvimento do indivíduo nos aspectos emocionais, cognitivos e de linguagem, ou seja, no apreender e aprender o mundo. Enfatiza a necessidade da parceria entre a família de crianças com distúrbios da comunicação e de aprendizagem e o profissional (o fonoaudiólogo e o psicopedagogo), que, atento à dinâmica familiar na qual a criança está inserida, desenvolverá um trabalho clínico mais eficiente e produtivo, propiciando o crescimento do seu paciente sob todos esses aspectos.

The present article broaches the importance of family influences on personal development by looking at emotional, cognitive, and language issues or, in other words, in understanding and learning the world. The article emphasizes the need for partnerships between the families of kids with learning and communication disturbances and specialists (the speech pathologist and the psychopedagogue) who, when paying attention to a childs familiar dynamic, will develop more productive and efficient work which provides for and assures the growth of his patient in all aspects.

Respiratory physiotherapy and mother/child hospitalization

A maneira de abordar a criança no processo de saúde-doença tem mudado muito em decorrência de resultados de pesquisas nas áreas da saúde médica, humana e social. O proceesso de hospitalização nas unidades de enfermaria pediátrica não envolve somente a criança, mas também sua mãe, que muitas vezes ao acompanhá-la, internandose junto a ela, desestrutura totalmente uma família deixando em segundo plano seus outros filhos e o marido. Para um melhor sucesso no tratamento fisioterápico e menor recidiva na internação dessas crianças, a relação mãe-filho precisa estar estabelecida e fortalecida, fazendo com que essa mãe adquira responsabilidades no seguimento do tratamento de seu filho, ajudando a mantê-lo sempre que possível em tratamento domiciliar e/ou ambulatorial, estando sempre mais presente na construção de um futuro mais esperançoso e, acima de tudo, melhorando a sua qualidade de vida.

The way of approaching a child during the health-illness process has changed a lot, as a result of researches in medical, human and social areas. The hospitalization process in pediatric ward units doesnt only involve the child, but also the mother who escorts the child, staying in hospital herself next to her child, causing a disruption in familiar life as the mother regards her other children and husband to second place. For the physiotherapy treatment to be successful and to minimize the situations of relapse in the internment of these children the mother-son relationship needs to be established and strengthened helping the mother to develop responsibilities to proceed with her child´s treatment in each possible situation (home based and/or ambulatory treatment), helping to build a more hopeful future and, above all, improving her childs quality of life.
