Abstract

CERVANTES, Claudia Jessica  and  GARCIA-LOPEZ, Éric. Características psicopatológicas en niños con violencia familiar en Oaxaca. Altern. psicol. [online]. 2012, vol.16, n.26, pp.3-15. ISSN 1405-339X.

Family violence is a public health problem that has been increasing steadily in our society. In recent years, there have been numerous investigations into family violence and especially the women. These studies did not expose the consequence of violence on the children in this situation. The aim of this research is to understand psychopathological characteristics inherent in children as victims or as witness to violence in their families. The results indicate that the psychopathological features common in children living with family violence are: attention deficit disorder and disruptive behavior, anxiety disorders, mood disorders and excretory disorders. Any of these factors may present independently or in combination.

Keywords : Family violence; psychopathological characteristics in children.
