Abstract

SANCHES, Natália; MARTINS, Tayná Ceccon  and  SILVA, Rafael Bianchi. Work psychology in social assistance: analysis from a focus group. Aletheia [online]. 2020, vol.53, n.2, pp.165-178. ISSN 1413-0394.  https://doi.org/10.29327/226091.53.2-13.

The objective of this article is to analyze the work and formation of the psychologist to work in the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS) in the city of Londrina-PR, based on report of continuing education experience with a group of professionals that work in politics. For the workshops, the focus group modality was used in addition to different data collection instruments. From speeches and written productions along a formation group, an analysis of the meaning core presented by the participants was performed. The results showed that there are knowledge and practices that are specific to psychologists in social work, but the absence of training spaces corroborates the insecurity of these professionals in their daily work. As a conclusion, there is the need to operationalize concepts widely disseminated by psychological knowledge so that they can provide support to the category's work in the context of the National Social Assistance Policy.
