ABSTRACT The crime of femicide is characterized by the murder of women on the grounds of gender. This study is to understand the role of the forensic psychologist in the cases of femicide, the challenges encountered to perform quality work, as well as identify the most common profile of the aggressor. This is a qualitative research of exploratory nature, having as instrument the semi-structured interview. The sample consisted of four psychologists working in the forensic area and classified by categories. Among the main results, we highlight the high demand for work, which affects the quality of technical activities. Regarding the profile of the aggressor, they are individuals with traits of sociopathy, as well as subjects with intense feelings of possession and pathological jealousy, characteristics that trigger violent behavior. It was also emphasized the importance of having better trained professionals to act in crimes of feminicide.
