ABSTRACT This experience report discusses an intervention axis to multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching and research project. These researchers’ actions deal with the mental health of the workers of the funeral service of São Paulo. The intervention went through two stages: visits to the cemeteries, so researchers became closer to the worker’s context and needs; and workshops conduct by group dynamics techniques. The workshops have occurred during five months, including up to 130 participants, such as drivers, gravediggers, death watch servants, human resources supervisors and managers, coached by Psychology undergraduate and graduate students. The analysis of the workshops substantiated the employees’ awareness of their needs in favor of mental health, and perception of the value of care and humanization in their professional and personal relationships. Furthermore, actions like this highlight the relevance of frequent psychological reception to funeral service workers.
