Abstract

AVELAR, André Soares Pereira. A review of the concept of ego in contemporary clinic. Cad. psicanal. [online]. 2020, vol.42, n.42, pp.173-188. ISSN 1413-6295.

The purpose of this paper is to carry out, based on the Ferenczian concept of ego, considerations on some aspects of contemporary subjectivity. I have aimed at articulating certain aspects of psychism with the subject of virtuality in an attempt to circumscribe the specificity of the psychic operation nowadays, a time when the economics of desire is questioned. I will employ the expression "net-ego" as a hypothesis, whose purpose is to propose a link between some features of the Ferenczian ego and the theme of virtuality, which is currently a very relevant issue of our culture.

Keywords : Ego; Virtuality; Introjection.
