Abstract

ANDRADE JUNIOR, Moisés de. On desire: psychoanalysis’s ethics and the analyst’s desire. Psyche (Sao Paulo) [online]. 2007, vol.11, n.21, pp.183-196. ISSN 1415-1138.

This article discusses the theoretical approximation between the concepts of the analyst’s desire and psychoanalysis’s ethics - both define in Lacan’s 7th Seminary - as well as the clinical consequences of such approximation. Our hypothesis is that the desire that constitute the analyst’s function - the analyst’s desire - contains ethical implications related to the cure’s direction. We therefore f propose that Lacan’s formulation of specific ethics for psychoanalysis is committed and truly connected to the subject desire, of which is the analyst responsibility to support.

Keywords : Analysts desire; Psychoanalysiss ethics; Analysts function; Moral conflict; Psychoanalytic clinic.
