Abstract

SOUSA FILHO, Alípio. Ideology and transgression. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2011, vol.11, n.22, pp.207-224. ISSN 2175-1390.

The article seeks to approach the theoretical issue that is around the concept of ideology - the renouncement of its employment by some authors and its confinement to a strict definition into marxist terms (the ideology as a particular social class viewpoint) -, by emphasizing its importance for the analyses of the culture, the symbolic, the social imaginary. It also seeks to bring the contribution of anthropological and sociological studies for thinking the ideology as a phenomena of culture (the modus operandi of every cultural system), linked to the effects of signification/symbolization of every social structure, each of them ratifying themselves onto symbolic as natural, universal, necessary, divine orders, denying one another as contingent, cultural, historical, particular, human orders. The article still discusses about the failure of all ideology, in its profound intention, that makes the contingent, arbitrary and conventional reality appear as a full-reality or a full-truth, a failure that is expressed in various ways of reality transgression and symbolic redefinitions which are being produced on the social changing dynamics.

Keywords : Ideology; Ideological discourse; Symbolic; Transgression; Epsitemology.
