Abstract

This text synthesizes part of the exercise of living, feeling and thinking from the boundaries between Social Psychology and Indigenous Movement(s). We aim to understand the historical process of mobilization of the Indigenous Movement(s) in Brazil, from the 1970s onwards, and to discuss the potential for dialogical de(s)colonization between the knowledge of indigenous peoples and the Psychology. We seek to displace knowledge from the colonial matrix power to assume popular conceptions, which is a fundamental requirement for the liberation of Psychology from its colonial episteme. . We resorted to bibliographical research enhanced by our participation and monitoring of public activities of the ethnic-social movements of the Kaiowá and Guarani peoples. The dialogue of Social Psychology with the experiences of the Indigenous Movement(s) presents transformative possibilities from the understandings of awareness and de-ideologization. And yet, it directs Psychology to detach itself from colonialities towards a commitment to popular movements to contribute to the emergence of decolonization processes.
