The musical abilities request the development of visual-spatial and verbal memories that can be studied through the model of Baddeley, named the working memory model. This study uses adaptations of the Pictorial Test of Memory (TEPIC-M), with the objective of assessing the visual-spatial and phonological memories of music students through tasks of recalling memory. The research was accomplished with 41 students of both sexes and aged from 14 to 57 years old, attending at the technical course of music of a Center of Music of Minas Gerais. The results showed that there was better recall when the task did not require the object location, that the stimuli more recalled was the written word comparing with the same stimuli showed as in picture form, and that the visual-spatial memory showed differences among the students.
