Abstract

WACHELKE, João et al. Characterization and Assessment of an Online Data Collection Procedure (CORP). Aval. psicol. [online]. 2014, vol.13, n.1, pp.143-146. ISSN 1677-0471.

The popularization of online data collection in Psychology is growing as a research strategy, especially for experiments and surveys with questionnaires. Acknowledging both advantages and limitations of internet collection and procedures in-person, a mixed procedure with characteristics of both approaches is proposed: an invitation by electronic mail is preceded by a brief presentation in-person in classrooms. In a last step, the participants receive certificates and reports about the mainly results of studies as compensation. The procedure achieved a response rate equal to 46.2% after three questionnaire studies with different topics, presenting a good costbenefit ratio for research with academic and school populations.

Keywords : research methodology; participant recruitment; data collection techniques.
