Abstract

SANTEIRO, Tales Vilela. A short film, several histories of the educational background and training of clinical psychologists: the case of “Bounding”. Rev. SPAGESP [online]. 2011, vol.12, n.2, pp.56-67. ISSN 1677-2970.

The educational background and training activity of clinical psychologists presupposes, among several pedagogical tools, the use of films for illustrative aspects of psychological theories and practices. “Bounding’”, which is a short film produced by Disney/Pixar (2003), is used as an educational resource within three phases in a Psychology Course of a Public University that contemplates the clinical processes as one of its Curriculum Emphases: (1) Personality Psychology, curricular component (CC) of the 5th period, working on personality theories; (2) Special Topics in Psychology and Clinical Processes, CC of the 9th period, working on psychological assessment in focal clinical processes; and (3) Supervised Training, CC of the 9th period, working on reflection upon focal clinical treatment in community context. Illustrations of the spectator-students’ methodologies and experiences are made. The theoretical orientation underlying all the activities is psychoanalytical.
