Abstract

The present study aims to know and to reflect about the developed functions by a School Psychologist that is included in the Children's Education context. 40 field records made by a professional, inserted in a preventive intervention program, were analysed. This proposal was called project "Vôo da Águia: prevenindo problemas sócio-emocionais e promovendo saúde", was developed in a municipal day care center located in the city of Campinas. The results pointed out seven functions related to the School Psychologist's preventive practice: to contact with the school professionals and the parents for the child; to follow the child's development at school; to listen to the pedagogical team; to participate in the activities developed in the school with the educators; to follow and advise the school's psychology team; to support the educators in the school routine; to know the physical space, the routine and the school workers.
