JANN, Priscila Nowaski and LEITE, Maria de Fátima. DNA game: a pedagogic instrument for the teaching of science and biology classes. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2010, vol.15, n.1, pp.282-293. ISSN 1806-5821.
The double helix of DNA has been presented as an icon of science, development and modernity in several events. However, most of the world population does not understand this scientific content and perhaps this difficulty is due to the nature of this abstract concept. Based on these findings, the students, developed, during the Methodologies and Practice in Biology classes, a game that depicts the structure of the DNA and RNA molecules and protein synthesis, aiming to unite the playful and the cognitive aspects, in order to facilitate the learning process concerning the genetic code. After application of the game in high school classes, the comments made by students showed that the game provided a better understanding of the structure of the DNA molecule, confirming the effectiveness of play associated to the cognitive aspect as an important strategy for education.© Cien.
