Abstract

The objective of this study was to verify which academic and extracurricular variables can explain the Career Adaptability (Concern, Control, Curiosity and Confidence) factors of the university student. Sample was composed of 323 participants, 67.2% were female with mean age of 24.33 years. As instruments were used a sociodemographic questionnaire and the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS), and the data was collected online. The main results indicated that the academic and extracurricular variables, that is, satisfaction with the course, satisfaction with choice, grade, extracurricular activities and employment status, were able to explain from 17% to 26% of the career adaptability dimensions. These results provide new possibilities for interventions aimed at promoting the fundamental career resources for the twenty-first century.
