This article presents an integrative review on internatonal scientific producton regarding the impacts of the covid-19 pandemic on the mental health of university students. We analyzed 44 articles found in LILACS, PubMed, PsycInfo and SciElo databases, where it is shown that covid-19 has caused significant worsening in the mental health of the academic community around the world, mainly generating moderate and severe symptoms of anxiety and depression. It is necessary that higher educaton institutions have knowledge about this fact and create mechanisms of listening and psychic support to provide beter conditons to face the current conditon.
