Abstract

NOLETO, Isabel  and  FORTES, Maria Isabel. Trauma and Psychic Urgency in the Suicide Clinic. Analytica [online]. 2022, vol.11, n.20, pp.1-23. ISSN 2316-5197.

This work aims to discuss the issue of suicide from the perspective of psychoanalysis. Suicide is a complex phenomenon, present in git self-indifferent ways in the clinic - due to the movement towards death, inattempts to take one's own life and in the most extreme form, that of suicide itself. Suicide is understood as a limit situation in which life has become too painful. The analytical experience provides a singular process of listening that can both embrace the patient's pain and believe that the treatment will allow the possible outcomes and alternatives to cope with pain. Our the oretical reference is Freud in "Beyond the pleasure principle", in relation to Ferenczi's texts "The unwelcome childand his death drive" and "Confusion of languages between adults and children".

Keywords : Suicide; Psychoanalysis; Trauma; Pain.
