Abstract

MANDELBAUM, Enrique. The freudian poetic form and the performances of hysteria. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2013, vol.35, n.55, pp.165-175. ISSN 0101-3106.

Studies on hysteria introduces, rather than a theoretical understanding on hysteria, a poetic form that has been capable to go beyond the text to take place in multiple performances in our times, to the point of transforming hysteria, as Breton and Aragon recognize, into the most important poetic invention of the 19th Century. The paper accompanies the manifestations of these performances in Loie Fuller´s dance, in a Mercedes Sosa´s song, in Paula Rego´s paintings and in the psychoanalytical clinic.

Keywords : Psychoanalysis; Poetic forms; Hysteria.
