Abstract

MINERBO, Marion. Girls wear pink and boys wear blue. Drive destinies in times of symbolic misery. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2019, vol.41, n.67-68, pp.241-247. ISSN 0101-3106.

Throughout the history of psychoanalysis, Freud's theory of support has paved the way for the place and function of the object in the destinies of the drive. The author argues that the crisis of institutions makes it difficult to "tame" the drive, in addition to throwing the subject into a state of identity abandonment. Several social symptoms are indicative of this suffering: a certain type of social violence, fanaticism of all kinds, the lone wolf and the rise of neoconservatism. They are a few of the destinies of the drive in times of symbolic misery.

Keywords : Symbolic misery; Social violence; Fanaticism; Lone wolf; Neoconservatism.
