Abstract
TRAVASSOS, Maria do Rosário de Castro and CECCARELLI, Paulo Roberto. Rites of passage: the place of adolescence in tembe tenetehara and kaxuyana indigenous societies. Reverso [online]. 2016, vol.38, n.71, pp.99-106. ISSN 0102-7395.
The puberty is an experience about disruptions and transformations, which can cause conflictis. Among Tembé and Kauyana indigenous societies in the states of Pará and Amapa, the arrival of puberty is marked by rits of passage that introduce the child in the adult world, without the inclusion in adolescense as defined in western culture of non-indian. Deadloks appear during the clash between their symbolic codes with the non-indian. The text proposes a reflection on puberty within a psychoanalitc perspective.
