Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Marcos de Moura. The subject, his body and getting sick. Reverso [online]. 2021, vol.43, n.82, pp.51-58. ISSN 0102-7395.

This study brings an understanding of the concept of illness through the interrelationship of the psyche and the body, starting from the drive to the teleological body and object relations. In the proposed view, illness is the struggle between the subject and the bad object as a metaphor for the struggle between good and bad, or life and death. Given the above, the various forms of falling ill are resignified as traces of historical development and psychoanalysis as a possibility of rewriting this history.

Keywords : Psychoanalysis; Psychosomatics; Body; Disease.
