This article traces the axes of analytic training back to the work of deformation that Freud originally discovered in dream work. Deformation encompasses the set of operations that constitute and preserve psychic life. It is the consequence of the imposition of language on the somatic body, revealing its plasticity, from which psychic transformations result. From these premises, the author questions the institutionalization of analytical training.
