Disorder Autism Spectrum (TEA) is considered a global development disorder with serious and compromising features. Maternal overhead is mentioned by several authors as a consequence of their own child's condition, which implies an intense and constant dependence carrier in relation to his mother. The objective of this study was to identify the child's independence pattern of relationship with TEA and the self-efficacy level of your caregiver. This study was attended by 13 caregivers, 15.4% male and 84.6% female. To collect data we used two protocols: Perception Scale Self-efficacy and Katz Index of Activities of Daily Living. The results showed that the caregivers had a good Self-efficacy rate with no caregiver burden (M=40.3). Scores on Katz Index (M=11.3) showed three dependent children, 4 needed help and 6 independent. The study pointed to the lack of correlation of the child's level of dependency with ASD and perception of caregiver self-efficacy, suggesting limitation and particularity of the sample, whose caregivers demonstrated with practical and emotional availability, to meet the demands of the child, minimizing the impact.
