Abstract

SOUZA, Laura Vilela e; LION, Camila Martins; VIDOTTO, Letícia Trombini  and  MOSCHETA, Murilo dos Santos. Resources from single session narrative therapy for times of pandemic and social isolation. Nova perspect. sist. [online]. 2020, vol.29, n.67, pp.7-22. ISSN 0104-7841.  https://doi.org/10.38034/nps.v29i67.571.

In this text, we present the contributions of single session therapy intervention based on the assumptions of narrative therapy applied to the Covid-19 pandemic context. We begin our text with an outline of the complexity that marks different experiences of the pandemic and social isolation and present the main aspects to be considered in very brief voluntary online psychological assistance in emergencies. In the sequence, we approach a step by step model of single session narrative therapy. We highlight the importance of building a work agenda to delimit the focus of the intervention, the rich and externalized description of the problem, its effects and its influence on the client's life, the search, recognition and appreciation of alternative narratives and finally the construction of possibilities from the resources identified in the session. We believe that the resources presented can inspire interventions in various situations.

Keywords : Single session therapy; Narrative therapy; Psychological counseling; Psychological duty; Emergencies.
