Abstract

MEYER, Alan Victor. The metamorphosis of narcissism: Lacan, the mirror stage and aggressiveness. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2014, vol.48, n.3, pp.69-79. ISSN 0486-641X.

In this article, two texts of Lacan's initial writings, published in Écrits - on the mirror stage and on aggressiveness -, are analysed from the perspective of narcissism. In both we have the importance of the image in the mirror and in relation to the other (semblable). In order to show the importance of ethology for the establishment of the image, we consider an article by Bento Prado Jr. in which the author analyzes the first two seminars of Lacan. The establishment of the I and the origins of the human subject constitute its broader perspective.

Keywords : narcissism; image; I (je); me (moi); ethology; aggressiveness; prematurity.
