Abstract

COSTA, José Fernando Andrade. "To do and to transform": the Maritza Montero's political psychology of communities. Rev. psicol. polít. [online]. 2015, vol.15, n.33, pp.269-283. ISSN 1519-549X.

This paper presents and discusses both theoretical and methodological aspects of the venezuelan Maritza Montero's work, highlighting its historical importance for the development of Political Psychology and Community Psychology in Latin America. From a literature review, I argue that, taken in its historical context, Montero's work is an authentic form of Political Psychology of Communities. Finally, it is argued about the relevance and potential of Montero's work for the development of future researches on a psychopolitical-community approach, which intends to be transformative of social reality by a critical and liberating perspective.
