Abstract

STEINBERG, Samantha A.. Reflections over the analyst's function desire, from the topology of the surfaces. Stylus (Rio J.) [online]. 2013, n.27, pp.79-88. ISSN 1676-157X.

In this article we intend to elicit some reflections on the desire of the analyst function, based on what the topological figures presented by Lacan in his Seminar 11 - The Four Fundamental Concepts of Psychoanalysis - can teach us. We will also try to show the opposition between the concepts of transference and desire of the analyst using an article by Pearl King, IPA's audacious English analyst, tackled by Lacan in his following seminar - Crucial Problems for Psychoanalysis. From these elements we will also discuss the treatment plan proposed by the Lacanian clinic and its difference from the other therapies and analyses. The concepts of demand, identification, transference, object a and desire of the analyst will be tackled in order to achieve our aim.

Keywords : Topology of surfaces; Transference; Identification; Demand; Desire of the analyst function.
