Abstract

BERTAO, Flávia R. B. M.  and  HASHIMOTO, Francisco. Between wish and psychological suffering at work: a case study of a children’s teacher. Psicol. rev. (Belo Horizonte) [online]. 2006, vol.12, n.20, pp.141-163. ISSN 1677-1168.

This article investigates the link between wish and suffering at work based on the relation that is set between the job and the human subjectivity. The study was built up from semi-directed interviews made to the teacher. The reported answers provided data about psychological life and the probable ambiguity between wish and suffering as well as its manifestations in the relation that the subject sets on his work. It was discussed how infant emotional relations are reedited in the work context and how that scrutinizes the symbolic resonance. In this study it was concluded that the importance of the word at work provides conditions to develop the mind. Joined to the symbolic resonance the subject can sustain a connection between his own personal history and his job performance what makes possible to reach creative suffering and to overcome pathological one in spite of those sufferings are interlinked, ambiguous and psycho-dynamics.
