Abstract

CASTANHO, Pablo de Carvalho Godoy. The moment of the task in the group: psychoanalytical and psychosocial aspects. Rev. SPAGESP [online]. 2007, vol.8, n.2, pp.00-00. ISSN 1677-2970.

We propose that Pichon-Rivière’s concept of Task should be understood from a double perspective. From a psychosocial point of view, we see the concept of Task as related to the category of Work in Social Sciences. Accordingly, the moment of the Task would be a moment of surpassing the self-alienation present in the structure of work in our society. As self-alienation is a component of every form of alienation, the moment of the Task in a group would be a moment when a non-alienated or a less alienated work is taking place. From this point of view the discussion about the contemporary forms of alienation of work are essential for the professional who works with operative groups. From a psychoanalytical point of view, the Task can be seen as a psychic process and formation defined by its economical, dynamic and topic characteristics. We follow Fernandes in regarding the moment of the Task as a moment in which a transitional space, in the sense of Winnicott, is established which turns the group’s work into a qualified form of playing.
