Abstract

This study is part of a larger search for the validation of the Eating Disorders Inventory - 3 (EDI-3) in Brazil. It was analyzed only the scale of the Maturity Fears that proposes assessing the desire to return to childhood safety, because the goal of the work was to describe the obtained gross results. It was applied the EDI-3 in 157 people of the South and Southeast regions of the country. The analysis of data has been through the medium of raw scores. According to the data we have seen that the fear of maturity in the sample studied presented itself more in women than in men. As the age, the results were closer, with a small oscillation between them, and on marital status, realized that the maturity fears was higher in married than single people. In face we concluded that the goal was reached and it is suggested more research on maturity fears and eating disorders.
