Abstract

This research was conducted in general pediatrics in the Santa Casa de Misericórdia of Maceió with 30 caregivers of hospitalized children and aimed to investigate the relationship between indicators of body and health care, symptoms of anxiety and depression focusing the probability of illness. Initially, it was performed a data descriptive analysis, with distribution of frequency for socio-demographic changes, information of the disease and treatment, psychosocial factors of the Evaluation Scale of Social Adjustmente, Axienty Scale and Hospital Depression, in addition to quality/quantitative analysis of item in the semi-directed interview. It was found that 53% of the respondents showed presence of anxiety, 43% of depression and 70% illness probability. Thus, the research evidences the importance of health professionals attend to caregivers, who also has an intense pain and mental suffering that should be valorized and treated.
