The study presents the effects of an intervention program carried out with a group of parents, whose children were removed from their coexistence and are in a situation of institutional care, the intervention was guided by the PQIF - Program for Quality and Family Interaction. The general objective of this work is to describe the effects of the Quality Program on Family Interaction with Parents of Institutionalized Children. The focus of the meetings was to raise awareness among parents about the need to expand the repertoire of adequate parenting practices in their children's education. The families were referred through the Protection Network of a municipality in the Southwest of Paraná, to a school service in the area of Psychology. Initially, the families were submitted to an initial interview to receive and collect pre-test data and later inserted into an intervention group, held at Casa Abrigo in the municipality. Seven families participated and the instruments applied were the Family Interaction Quality Scale-EQIF and the Beck Scales, composed of the Depression Inventory (BDI), Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Despair Scales (BHS) and Suicide Ideation Scale (BSI). The results showed that the levels of anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts decreased, with the exception of hopelessness, since there was no change in this scale. It is emphasized from the pre and post intervention assessment, indicating important contributions of the study to scientific research and to professionals who work with families.
