Abstract

HINTZ, Helena Centeno. Marital conflicts: possible origins. Pensando fam. [online]. 2021, vol.25, n.1, pp.83-92. ISSN 1679-494X.

Many married individuals go through significant changes in their lives during the marital years, including identity changes, role changes in marriage and outside the family as well as in professional and social life, and changes in the relationship with their own parents. Since marital conflict is an experience with a universal scope, it becomes pertinent to think about how couple relationships evolve over time. Discord between spouses is often unavoidable when two people seek to integrate their lives, causing conflicts that vary in frequency and intensity. The objective of this study is to reflect on what can cause disagreements in a relationship whose beginning, probably, was of love and desire to share important moments in their lives.

Keywords : Marital conflict; Attachment theory; Narcissism; Marital reactivity.
