Abstract

BRAUM, Sandra Maria. The transtextuality in some works of Italo Calvino:: could the thread of desire sew the intertexts of the author and the reader?. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2006, vol.8, pp.153-164. ISSN 1806-5821.

Abstract The present article contains some definitions about transtextuality and intertextuality. Using some selected works of Italo Calvino the aim here is to ilustrate such concepts and relate them to the concept of the universal library or the Babel Library of Jorge Luis Borges. On the selected works of Italo Calvino some kinds of readers are also highlighted; they are defined in accordance with their desire. From this reader's classification is brought to discussion the necessity of desire to unmask the intertexts. The existence of such desire would allow an improvement in the reading, information and knowlegde. © Ciências & Cognição 2006; Vol. 08: 153-164.
