Abstract

CRUZ, Roberto Moraes  and  MACIEL, Saidy Karolin. Psychological expertises in work related situations. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2005, vol.5, n.2, pp.120-129. ISSN 1808-4281.

Psychological forensic evaluations are used as evidence in lawsuits. Psychological expertise in work-related situations is usually requested for the verification of damage and, in this context, it acquires the quality of an inspection. The demand for psychological expertise results from the need to evaluate work conditions and its effects on the psychological aspects of health. The evaluation of the consequences of the relationships between health conditions and individual-work-productivity-effectiveness are usually requested in relation to accidents, work-related illnesses, leaves of absence and retirements. The evaluation of psychological damage consists of a challenge for psychology professionals: in terms of theory, in defining psychological damage; in terms of method, in defining strategies for diagnosing psychological damage, and in the development of professional competences.

Keywords : Psychological damage; Psychological expertise; Professional competences.
