Abstract
FLAJOLIET, Alain. From the Hermeneutic to the phenomenology of the literary work. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2008, vol.8, n.2. ISSN 1808-4281.
With P. Ricouer's remarkable works concerning literature - in particular La métaphore vive (1975) and the three volumes of Temps et récit (1982-1986), and also a great number of articles and brief communiqués - the elucidation of his work through the hermeneutic point of view seems to have been imposed, to the detriment of a more phenomenological approach. In fact, Ricouer´s philosophy suddenly changes in the mid-seventies, from a post-husserlian phenomenology (represented by Le volontaire et l´involuntaire and also in many of articles about Husserl) to a hermeneutic based on a finite and factual existence, that would constantly seek to interrogate literature. This redirection occurs before his work concerning these same literary works - that is outlined in the essay on Freud from 1969 -, but it enabled the interpretation of texts from the hermeneutic point of view. Our goal here is to demonstrate that a predominantly phenomenological elucidation was - and still is - possible. This point of view was introduced by R. Ingarden in 1931 in his seminal book: L'oeuvre d'art littéraire, and this work will serve as a guideline to this sketch of a possible phenomenology of the work.
