In a developmental perspective, different trajectories of offending conduct are possible and depend on the exposure of adolescents to risk factors. This work is part of a research project about the relevance of an instrument - "Risk and Need" evaluation - in the Brazilian reality. We sought to analyze the exposure of a group of offenders adolescents to the factors identified as strongly associated with persistent conduct. The results showed that for the group studied, mainly composed of teenagers who had been firstly detained, prevailing contextual factors / situational, related to family, school and friends, rather than the individual, such as personality, attitudes and orientations. This type of analysis provides important indications to the development of public policies focus primary and secondary prevention. Studies with larger and diverse samples should be implemented.
