Abstract

L. FILIPPI, Graciela  and  E. FERRARI, Liliana. Autoconcepto laboral y compromiso: Estudio longitudinal de las transformaciones de la valoración de sí y las expectativas del trabajo elegido. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2008, n.15. ISSN 1870-350X.

This article analyzes the transformations in people’s self-perception of  labor and professional roll, showing the new expectations that characterize the contemporary commitment with working activity and the value of work. We expose a cross-sectional study developed between 2004 and 2007, from two samples: a synchronic and diachronic investigation of the meaning of work in the globalized context of flexibility; and a study of the meaning of work in the Argentine port-crisis. From the first one, we present the results of the application of the Self-concept Scale; from second one, the exploration of the new modalities of commitment with work as a practice and as value.

Keywords : Self-concept; Commitment; Values; Identity.
