Abstract

This article shows the results of an investigation conducted with higher education students. These results are the product of the application of an associative instrument that corresponds to the Natural Semantic Networks technique, in which each participant is asked to write down, based on an inductor term, words related or associated to a given term and to grant it a hierarchy according to its relevance. Results about the meaning that students give to the concept "Elderly" are presented, obtained from three central geographical region universities. The answers from students show 83 different words associated to the given inductor term. The main words are focused on aspects that indicate degrees of acceptance towards the group of the elderly.
