Abstract

MORAES, Norma Aparecida Silveira de. Old age: intrinsic and extrinsic life’s quality. Bol. psicol [online]. 2007, vol.57, n.127, pp.215-238. ISSN 0006-5943.

The aim was to investigate various aspects of life’s quality (intrinsic and extrinsic) according to elderly people opinions, compared by gender. Fifty older adults (65-86 years old), half of each gender, participated of the study. They answered two questionnaires (WHO/QOL - short form and another one elaborated for the research). The results showed the tendency to evaluate positively their life’s quality. It was found some correlations among genders, concerning some variables, as well divergences in others. They tended to assign an important role to religion into theirs lives.
