Abstract

BARROS, Leonardo Haddad da Costa. Transference in analytically oriented group psychotherapy. J. psicanal. [online]. 2015, vol.48, n.88, pp.81-94. ISSN 0103-5835.

Transference is considered to be an important therapeutic resource since the early years of psychoanalytic practice. In the clinical practice of group psychotherapy, transference achieves a significant level as it lies in the subjective framework of each member of the group. This paper considers the implications of transference in analytically oriented group therapy. Taking into account the space and the importance of transference in the analytical setting, and a currently increasing interest in studies related to groups, the author did a literature research using qualitative analysis. In that research, he found three main categories, which represent the results: Transference in group therapy: concept and importance, implications of intersubjective processes in transference, and multiple and crossed transferences. The author wrote about the representation of transference in the process of analytically oriented group therapy, and he also described that representation in the field of psychic and intersubjective development. This papers demonstrates the importance of approaching transference when it comes to the internal world of the individuals in this kind of process.

Keywords : group psychotherapy; psychoanalysis; transference (Psychology).
