Abstract

NOFFS, Neide de Aquino  and  RACHMAN, Vivian C. B.. Psychopedagogy and health: reflexions about psychopedagogic intervention in hospital. Rev. psicopedag. [online]. 2007, vol.24, n.74, pp.160-168. ISSN 0103-8486.

The object of this paper is to systematize the psychopedagogic planning and intervention elaborated by the coordinator and the students of the Psychopedagogy course at PUC-SP in the pediatric ward of the Hospital Servidor Público Estadual (HSPE) from March 2004 to December 2006. Therefore, the history of hospital classes is introduced in both national and international bounds as well as the professional training of the teachers who will work with these classes, and keeping the reader aware of the place and the subject of the research. In addition, the history of hospital classes at HSPE is shown and so is the path that the Psychopedagogy course at PUC-SP has been through. This new path comes from the consciousness that there is an enormous gap between the professional formation of teachers for hospital classes and the great daily demand, which might be filled by psychopedagogy in hospital classes.
