Abstract

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to investigate the perspectives of the parents and teacher about inclusive education. METHODS: Sixteen parents (four had a soon with special needs) and four teachers answered a questionnaire with structured questions. The children were enrolled in regular class (Maternal, Infantil II, III and Elementary School) of the private school, in Campinas, SP (Brazil). RESULTS: The results show that the perspectives of the parents and the teachers were different. All the parents of the children (with and without special needs) have a positive attitude from inclusive education and think that school need to use strategies for the development of emotional, social and academic aspects of the children with special needs. The teachers have a positive attitude from inclusive education too, but they think that school need to use strategies for development of emotional and social aspects of the children with special needs. The authors use the concept of self-efficacy for explain the posture of this teachers.
