Abstract

ALMEIDA, Mariângela Mendes de. Psychoanalytic partnerships with video technology in clinical work: looking at relationships in times of selfie. Rev. bras. psicanál [online]. 2015, vol.49, n.1, pp.151-164. ISSN 0486-641X.

After making initial considerations on technology and contemporaneity, and providing an overview of her personal experience of filming parent-child relationship, the author presents, in this paper, her clinical thoughts on the therapeutic use of video technology, which is informed by the psychoanalytic early intervention approach. She emphasizes the potentiality of video recording in offering a deeper look into relational microscopy, expanding psychoanalytic use in teaching and researching situations, and in direct clinical contact with parents and children.
